Mike Weller

Mike began his professional career with the United States Marine Corps and then found his calling as a police officer.  He has been a police officer for 19 years and currently serves as the fitness coordinator for the Department.  As an instructor for the past 10 years, He has seen many walks of life and trained hundreds of people.  During this time, he has come to understand that everyone functions differently, and determined that it is important to recognize what motivates people.  This drive helps him  to  encourage a positive attitude and promote a permanent lifestyle change in people.  Presently, he has taken this valuable information and developed the health and wellness program for his agency.  Mike realized that the information he gathered over the past several years can apply to anyone and must be delivered in an effort to make everyone healthy.  All of his efforts have culminated into this program and has produced significant changes in all participants.

For these reasons he has chosen to share my experience and offer this knowledge to every person that wishes to change their lives. He has found that everybody falls off the wagon at some point during their lives but it is important  that we get them back on track. He has discovered during his travels that people need a belief system that has some type of structure.  He then assists with getting people motivated about the program which ultimately transforms into positive results.

Diane Salen

Diane started her profession in retail while she attended college part- time.  She knew that Law Enforcement was her calling but she did not meet the age requirement at that time.   Fate intervened and she got married and started a her children, she applied to several police departments and was hired by a local County Police Department. Shortly after graduating  from the police academy one of her children was diagnosed and hospitalized with juvenile diabetes at the age of four. This was a real turning point for her family as they became more educated in health and nutrition. She committed to a lifestyle change for the entire family and began extensively researching nutrition to better assist her daughter  with her diabetes as well as a healthy lifestyle for her entire family. She wanted to be a role model for her children and engaged in fitness and wellness and instilled it in them as well. Her children were always active and played sports recreationally and then in high school and college. Her daughters have participated in several runs with her to include 5 ks and half marathons. Once on the police department she  was selected to join the academy staff and continued in health and fitness completing the FBI Fitness Instructor School and then the Cooper Aerobic Institute Fitness Instructor School.  She has had the privilege of training over one thousand recruits and and approximately 100 instructors.  She has been a police officer for over twenty years and currently serves as a shift commander. She still serves as a peer fitness instructor for the police department.  Diane feels that healthy living is a choice that all of us should make to live not only longer but have a better quality of life. She knows that  people approach this from different mindsets and motivations. It is her focus to find out what motivates a person and build on that rather than imposing her beliefs on them. Each person has to find what works for them.

For these reasons, Diane has chosen to take what she has learned and bring it to this arena. She believes that every person can live a healthier lifestyle regardless of their current fitness level. That change has to be each person's choice and she is privileged to be a catalyst of that change. She focuses on the positive impact she can have on each person's life and looks forward to continuing to work in this area.

Diderot Alerte

Diderot's passion for staying fit began in high school after playing sports all year round.  While in high school he played soccer, basketball, and golf leaving only time to study.  After graduating from high school in 1997, he attended Rowan University and shortly after in 1998 joined the United States Army and enjoyed physical fitness so much that he found myself constantly working out whenever he had time off.  In 2007, he joined the Prince George’s County Police Department and was pushed to a higher level of physical fitness by adding nutrition and dieting into his workout plan.  It was not until then that he considered taking the necessary steps of becoming a certified physical fitness instructor so that he could help others who may want that extra push like he had while going through his various stages of growth.

His philosophy on life is, “your talent is God’s gift to you, what you do with it is your gift back to God.”
